Dictionnaire - Chasse au trésor - French-English Dictionary Scavenger Hunt

This French-English Dictionary Scavenger Hunt is a fun way for students to practice their dictionary skills.

For this activity, students are required to practice using both a manual dictionary, as well as an online dictionary, such as Linguee or WordReference. They have to find the translation of specific words in both French and English, but also must carefully read the dictionary to differentiate between homonyms. The last task includes discovering whether a specific noun is masculine or feminine.

It is an effective lesson at the beginning of every school year to teach students how to independently look up a word! This resource includes 2 separate activities and an answer key for both.
