This Lip Sync Battle is an extremely fun and engaging cross-curricular task for your Dance, Drama, and Music programs!
Students will work in groups to lip sync dramatically to a song of their choosing, while also choreographing a dance performance with props. They will present their performance in front of the rest of the class and the audience will determine the winner of the battle! My students LOVE this assignment, work hard/with focus during every practice, and always ask to perform on the gym stage ... Your students will, too!
This resource includes:
- 2 handouts outlining all expectations and details for the assignment (one for Dance/Drama and another for Music)
- Dance rubric
- Drama rubric
- Music rubric
- Chart to record student groups and their chosen song
- 2 versions of a Lip Sync Battle Certificate for the winning group members
Both sets of certificates come in 3 different sizes for you to print out to your liking:
- one full horizontal page (11 x 8.5")
- half-letter size (8.5 x 5.5")
- quarter-page (4.25 x 5.5")
All you have to do is print and cut them out, then write the names of your student winners and the date on each!
The French version of this assignment can be found here.
